Some may not be aware of the military history associated with Whitchurch Hospital.

During the First World War, the hospital was renamed The Welsh Metropolitan War Hospital and officially opened on the 9th of June 1915

107 yrs ago Horatio Ellis Evans killed in Salonika, Greece. He was treated at the Hospital in 1916 & awarded the Military Medal.
On recovering, re-posted overseas & killed in action - 17th September 1918
