It’s interesting how much worse we look with Spence on the left this season vs last season.

Thank you! I didn’t have high hopes for the first half, with the selection (albeit cos of injuries and need for rotation).

I only got to watch from ‘60 onwards but it seemed much better generally than the Chelsea match. Was the first half similar? (Not sure if this is silly but I worry that Richy’s celebration might have caused a drop off in intensity and focus.)

Ah, that was him. He seemed promising. And Beto was a bit unlucky not to score.

i thought you restricted us to nothing but set pieces really so was quite impressed at the solidity. Who was the striker you bought in the summer?

That should be surprising but isn’t! I watched part of season 1 when it came out in 2017 and somehow forgot all about it, having had zero reminders, til a few weeks ago. Just astonishingly good.

I think “gorgeous” works for sounds but perhaps it requires a degree of complexity? I have your intuition for single specific notes but have no trouble thinking of a voice or accent as gorgeous.

Generative AI, in both form and content, and whether looked on favourably or critically, seems to embody a collective hopelessness about the prospect of human learning and creativity, if not human knowledge altogether. It’s as if climate change had fans.
