The NY Times is as limber as a contortionist in how it twists its headline away from pointing the finger in the right direction. The student is the one “attacked”? Because he bragged about getting ICE to arrest people at a local car wash and was criticized (and also lauded) online as a result

Seriously, @chronicle.com ? In addition to being tone deaf and insulting, this cover’s image doesn’t even represent cowardice . Sigh

This dog. This fucking dog. He has eaten half the socks I own and destroyed furniture and treats my office like a litter box and inhaled multiple burritos off a dinner plate … and then every night he transforms into the cutest, sweetest baby and I melt. Every time.

My two sons react very differently when their mom says something wildly offensive (or as we call it for short: “says something”)

Looks like the remaining handful of us can divvy things up now. I’ll take Radio City Music Hall and that weird ass place at the end of Nashville where everyone sang “It Don’t Worry Me.”

Usually this corner is occupied by old hippies protesting as old hippies do. But every 9/11 this guy shows up and everyone lets him have his own stage.

After 35 years as a humanities scholar, I can share one piece of wisdom. Each year you'll become more aware of how much you do not know. A lifetime of study atomizes intellectual hubris. It is something akin to enlightement, I suspect, & easier if you surrender fantasies of "mastery" at the door.

First they came for the fake civil war statues erected in the 30s to defend segregation. Then they came for Cracker Barrel’s ol’ Cracker. American culture is under assault.
