I really don't know, man. The entire world is swept by a right shift. I am pretty sure that on average, continental Europe has weathered that right shift better than the UK, which would make me wonder if I'd rather be in the car with 3 wheels off the cliff than in a bus with 2 wheels off it... 🤷‍♀️

Never would have thought that someone could make me think of EU politicians as bulwarks of democracy, but US politicians certainly do... 😅

I think that American exceptionalism and the belief that "this can't happen to us" was exactly what made it happen to the US.

And I think that a lot of (non-US?) people knew and were afraid of that exceptionalism, even way before Trump.

But knowing about it didn't really seem to help at all... 🤷‍♀️
