This is also a game I can't actually recommend to people because it went from a series that had some perversions along anime lines to "Well this is just Actually A Fetish in my JRPG"

Amusingly enough this reminds me of a character from a game I've played who admittedly could be treated better
But she's straight up a huge muscle beefcake who acts all crass while insisting she's also a cute girl
And it turns out she's legitimately just using magic to get all big and strong

I do still enjoy it, and am waiting for the next book! But it did feel like it lost something of the original identity from the first book.

At first extremely refreshing for the contrast between his practical attitude and viewpoints on honor (strong and silent personality type) versus Cultivator Nonsense and there's still some of that there but Cultivator Nonsense taken seriously kind of wears inserted genre stuff into more of itself.

This reminds me of one I was reading except, you know, not the Anti magic stuff, but still very much full-plate knight in cultivator land. Explicitly an isekai of like a 1500s German knight or something like that.

This is honestly completely fair. KH2 is the best game in the series, but KH1 is a complete story in itself and has an almost magical feel to it that none of the others manage to quite hit. It's also the only game where the Disney part feels just as important as everything else. It's honestly unique

It bridges the gap between the games, but with the way it turns out, Sora doesn't remember it, so he's as lost as you'll be if you go straight into 2. There is another game between them (358/2 Days) but it came out AFTER KH2 and therefore knowledge of it also isn't required. (2/2)

You don't need to replay KH1 before going into any of the other games. Having the collections means KH1 has an extra bonus boss and some small extra story content in the form of some reports, but they aren't NECESSARY.
