Yes, this is clearly Trump's plan. He knows that he will lose the mid-terms, so he has to stop them. And he'll do that with a war of some kind. The 70% of Americans who now oppose him will be dragged into a sink-hole, and many other countries will follow, unless he is stopped somehow NOW.

Putin wants Ukraine, and as much of Europe he can steal;
Trump wants the Nobel Peace Prize for a series of ridiculously amateurish attempt at peace brokerage;
Zelensky wants Trump to be defeated at the next election, and Putin to be removed.

This recipe for peace is the Putin recipe. Trump has no creative ideas, and Putin ignores him anyway. He thinks Trump is an idiot; who would argue that? Ukraine cannot accept this (Putin's) peace plan. They must stick with the Europeans and forget the USA for now. Putin cannot last much longer.
