By backing violent Maccabi fans against police advice Starmer's government showed themselves to be pro-thug. They now want to rob refugees of their valuables. And we thought Johnson's tories were lawless... 🙄

Johnson's tories were lawless enough, but Starmer's Labour is already pro-thug (supporting violent Maccabi fans) and is now apparently pro-theft...

Confiscating jewellery from survivors of a war zone makes you look like a fucking Nazi. And the obscene thing is, that is the intention. It's there to look appropriately harsh. Indecent. Filthy. A moral stain. And no-one of good character would have ever proposed such a thing in the first place.

While I think that Alex A generally has a lot of wise things to say, it's worth noting that the whole Best for Britain team seems to have become worrying pro-Labour since even before the GE (to the point where they were even promoting Labour candidates in SNP-held seats)...

I love Gaunt's Ghosts - I'm currently re-reading it from the start, and am up to #9... 🖤

I hear people complaining about tropes, but how would I know if what I'm reading is tropey or not? It's not like there's a breakdown at the start of every novel...

It seems that trope-obsession is a TikTok thing, but I don't use TikTok. What am I missing?

I never imagined Labour would attempt to ape Reform to this degree 😓

The first thing I'd ask is "What problem do you have with autistic, gluten-free or transgender people? How are they harming you?" 🤷🏻‍♂️🙄😡

Even if it's a greater (upfront) cost, I'd personally rather suffer a straightforward tax rise than a weaselly (indirect) cut to my pension contributions...

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
That sounds like a lot, though 😅 How long do you expect the chapter will be?

I work to a loose bullet point outline, with one point for each POV scene. It's enough to keep me on track as I know what needs to happen in each scene, even if I don't know exactly *how* it's going to happen until I start mashing the keyboard...

I dunno - I'd rather get a meeting over and done with than have it rescheduled and make me mentally prepare for it a *second* time 😅
