It’s funny because with the US government being their main customer, nationalizing it would really just be cutting out the middle man.

This idea that other people have some fundamental claim to your attention is nonsense.

Was this meant generally, or like specifically relating to churches? Because as a lapsed Catholic, I’ve thought from time to time I could benefit from “moral instruction” but I’m not about to sit in church while some deacon rants about abortion or Trump.

I can see how a writer could talk themselves into “needing” these details to make the audience care about the characters, but that’s wrong. We care about them based on their actions inside the tube that’s keeping them alive but also may kill them. Anyway, Hijack: solid B.

And I also felt for the writers a little because plane hijack stories are like submarine stories: the stakes are already high enough! The plane is hijacked! We don’t need any additional bits about this character’s ex-wife’s job interview or that character’s child’s inability to be on time to school.

But then you cast a 60 year old man, a late 20s woman who couldn’t be more than 5’5”/130, a deeply paunched mid 40s guy, and then two plausible terrorist late 20s dudes. And Idris cowers in front of each of them equally! Insane.
