Billionaires tend to follow the same incentives as everyone else, so can be modelled with the Laffer curve.

Mate-choice copying works the other way too. If someone receives cues that others find a person unattractive (e.g. they've never had a date), they'll tend to also find that person less attractive.

Anyway, now I definitely gotta go. It's been fun! Have a good weekend.

Anyway, I gotta go. Thanks again for taking the time to clarify your point.

Fair. I brought up mate-choice copying because from the outside it would look exactly like what you're describing. The *behavior* you're describing is more often observed among females. But since you're also inferring *motives*, which are untestable, we can't determine how true that part is.

I'm going to assume this isn't sarcasm!

You asked for evidence of mate-choice copying, I provided it, and now you tell me you're not interested in mate-choice copying, lol.

fyi, mate-choice copying is when someone finds someone else more attractive after learning that others find them attractive. It's what you accused men of doing.

Thanks. I don't believe this proves the point you were making, but I nevertheless appreciate that you took the time to find it for me.

Sure, but the findings are also robust for humans.

Also, I should point out that the data on mate-choice copying being mostly a female thing is not explained by male dishonesty, because it's not based on surveys but on multiple kinds of experiments. It's also found in nature, among females across countless animal species.

I'm not familiar with the porn data on this. What does it show? And can you link to the research?

As someone who moves in circles with a lot of straight male conservatives, I disagree. If a man finds someone attractive, he usually won't care what others think of them. Sure, "mate-choice copying" is a thing, but most studies I've seen find this to be more prevalent among females than males.

The headline in this case was obviously crafted to trigger people into clicking and sharing (as the OP did). But the headline is usually chosen by the editor, not the writer, and it often has little to do with the substance of the article, so I wouldn't judge the article by the headline.

The research has found that Betteridge's law is wrong. More headlines ending with a question mark are ultimately answered yes!

They didn't claim the word has no definition. They claimed it has no clear definition. In other words, it means different things to different people, which is evident from the variance of views in the Labour party.
