Esperance. I’d hate to have been one of those tourists for whom it should have been a highlight. We were there for the beaches, & to fulfil one of my bucket list places - a quick detour to Hopetoun to see if it was as described by Alan Carter in Prime Cut. Did not disappoint! 😃

I found this one for sale in an antiques market in Saigon, but I just couldn’t tell if it was real or repro. The price was about what a repro would cost, but then I had the issue of getting it back to Australia. So I was a coward & didn’t buy it.

And here in WA I have friends from Elgin & Fraserburgh. The northeast of Scotland is well represented. Incidentally, I did the DNA thing & was rapt that I’m 89% mostly Highland Scot, 6% Irish, 5% Viking and absolutely ZERO English. 😆

This is all I can find at short notice. We squatted in an unused box on the halfway line for all 3 days. One of my mates printed fake passes in his hotel business centre. It was just after the GFC & a BIG US bank had chosen to not occupy their box as it would be bad optics. Their loss! 🤣🤣🤣

At least it was my own decision to get many of my old jerseys & t-shirts made into a memory quilt. I have no regrets.
