Now that I have an A2000 keyboard, I need an interface to connect it to the A1200 mb in the Checkmate case: the Lyra 3 Keyboard Interface for Amiga 1200.

It plugs on to the keyboard controller chip and supports multi-key presses for proper gaming.

Keyboard: I originally wanted an A1000 keyboard - then I discovered it won’t fit in the garage under the Checkmate case. 😢 So, I scoured the interwebs for any Amiga keyboard and found this incredible specimen: an A2000 Hi-Tek Chicken Lips keyboard, plus a Tank Mouse for $250. 😎

Video Output: a great flickerfixer for quality of video and flexibility - the Indivision AGA MK3.

It reads the video output from the Lisa for remapping magic, and detects keyboard input via the CIA for live editing of the screen (move & resize).

For the accelerator card, I’m going with the TerribleFire TF1260, designed by Stephen Leary.
The TF1260 will be a great pairing with my MC68060RC50 CPU overclocked to 100MHz, and it provides 128MB RAM and an IDE interface.
Check out some gameplay! youtu.be/BGx3mwbvJsQ?...

CPU Decision: Motorola MC68060RC50 71E41J. Built-in MMU and FPU, and able to overclock to 100MHz!
I want a speedy Workbench experience, be able to play AlienBreed 3D and DOOM, run the hardest core demos, and do some rendering. Of course I’ll need an accelerator card to match…

I’ve decided on an A1200 mb and a Checkmate Plus case with rails. That case with rail-style feet will get me close to the A1000 aesthetic and have room for all sorts of goodies. Found a recapped mb with upgraded ROMs ready to go!

It’s a shame that I don’t have a real Amiga yet. But I do have a pocket-sized reasonable facsimile thereof! 😁

So…where to start? I gave away (🤬) my Amiga 500 decades ago and I’ve been out of the scene for ages, so it’s time for some interwebs research.
I love the *idea* of an Amiga 1000, but I find they don’t play the widest variety of games, and I do want to play some AGA titles. Hmm

In 1986 I started working part time after school at a video rental store that also sold TVs, regular PCs, and … Amigas!
It was love at first sight. 😍
