Oh hey, it's me getting emotional over another game again! This time it's a big one, with me talking about the themes of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I spoil the shit of out its story, so don't read unless you're already done or don't care about spoilers.

Playing the VA-11 Hall-A OST while applying to jobs. I loved this bartender simulator for its fun cyberpunk world, charming characters, and absolute BANGER of a soundtrack. I finished it early 2024 and I’m still playing it weekly.

Finished Clair Obscur Friday evening and I’m still processing all the feelings it bubbled up. I didn’t know what to expect when I started it, but by the time I got to the finale it became my favorite game of the generation.

Filled out the top 10 games of the 21st century over at @giantbomb.bsky.social. Not necessarily my favorite 10 games, but what I think are the best/most impactful.

Finished 1000x Resist as well. I really like heavy narrative games and this delivered. Mediations on memory, the resilience at the center of humanity, and forgiveness, its story hit hard. Absolutely loved it and full recommend it to anybody who wants something like Nier or 13 Sentinels.

Spinning on Saturday we’ve got American Idiot by Green Day. This came out freshman year of college and I’m still listening to it. Sadly, it also feels more relevant now than when it first came out. I need to pick up the follow up, 21st Century Breakdown, and get that spun up as well.

Tried to add this as a comment on both Skyline and Flashes in-app and couldn't, so here's the cover of the Paradise Killer OST by the amazing Mizucats.

I used to post quick clips of what I was spinning and figured I’d bring that back. First up is the Paradise Killer Original Soundtrack. As you can hear, it’s got this great throwback sound with a lot of vibey vaporwave throughout. Easily one of my favorite OSTs and was an immediate purchase.

Lovely day out with @kidd-presentable.bsky.social with a street fair and visiting the Syd Mead exhibit in Chelsea. So great to see Mead’s impeccable work and how far ahead of his time he always was. “Space Wheel Interior” in particular looks like a Mass Effect loading screen.

Wanted to mix things up with my journal and was able to find a 2015 Hobonichi Techo cover with Onett. It’s small, but helps distract me a little from THE HORRORS.
