Nice! Noting the label reminds me I miss ASV\Gaudeamus, always interesting music rarely heard elsewhere. I need to seek that one out, there's a perfect place in my collection for it! 🙂🤠

I wish more albums were done this way, I would rather listen to this than to a complete cycle of his symphonies or concertos. It is very difficult to find enough information to do this yourself, even if, like me, you have all the music you need right at hand. 🫤🤠

Very nice! I've never heard it broadcast before. The local PBS rarely strays beyond the Romantic Big Names, which is why I thank them often for forcing me to amass a decent collection of my own. 🤠

Auenbrugger is especially interesting, Haydn wrote a set of 6 sonatas just for her and her sister to play at salons because "they're equal to the greatest masters". It's a pity she died suddenly a year later after writing just this one sonata. Martines, however, became a star! 🤠

I'm guessing that sleeping isn't on the cool list. To be fair I was watching the very satisfactory election returns. Slept better than usual after that! 🤠

Nice! The quartets are all I've ever seen of his, I'll have to explore that Missa solemnis. Thanks 👍 🤠

That's the cycle I had that introduced me to those works. Mostly I only listen to period instruments now, but if I went back, I would be happy with those! 🤠

Yes, although I don't have liner notes (grrrr) I believe Alessandrini is playing cembalo, the other 2 instruments sound like Gamba and Theorbo. It's a very well organized group that really support Biondi well. 🤠
