I do it after drawing (me personally I let my hands rest for a bit before doing this) and there's a bit of soreness in my wrists.
But because it's warm water it shouldn't give you spasms🤔🤔🤔
Warm showers the next day helps too if it's back pain and neck pain.

As someone who's drawn for years on a daily basis working on comics this is how I managed to not break my arms to the point of needing an arm brace:
Hands soaked in warm water for at least 1-minute and the cramp is gone.
That's what being an extracurriculars girly during school taught me.
