I watch birds, make weirdbient music, and walk the north Texas paths in the scraggle-woods near open fields and prairie. I prefer kindness and respect for the inherent dignity and worth of all.
I remember the Star Trek TNG episode in which a hologram was trapped in a hologram universe. I picture Tilly Norwoods by the millions trapped in an endless silent space opera mouthing lines with subtitles forever.

ABC and CBS each chose appeasement instead of standing up for free speech. That disappoints me.

Tonight I made a fresh install of Q4OS on a "new" used laptop I bought on eBay. A recent hike in Ohio provided me with an image to use for the computer wallpaper.

Both things can be true:
1. Micah Parsons can be worth 47 million dollars a year, and 2. Dallas can be wise not to pay Micah Parsons 47 million dollars a year.

Today I saw an Indigo Bunting, which brings my Collin County bird list to 85 species. My 2025 goal of 100 is possible but not certain.

It's unfortunate, I suppose, that law, med and grad school evaluate actual standardized test scores rather than astronomic practice test scores. I rarely meet anyone whose practice LSAT score was 151 but whose actual score was 170. Practice makes near-perfect in ways game-time tests rarely achieve.

I recall the time when a classmate gave me the silent treatment, but I failed to notice because I did not expect conversation.

Indie online e-bookshops could use your custom too!

Find over 500 of them in my list of DRM-free bookshops. Ebooks, digital comics, magazines, and RPGs to actually own, keep, and read on any device.

The more direct to the author you buy, the bigger the cut of your money they get. 💜

"Flow" is a great film deserving even more accolades than it has received.

@seanennis.bsky.social I very much enjoyed Hope and Wild Panic. The narrative and the format held my interest and made me smile.

When I was 25, I had strong feelings that I should not work for a large law firm. It was a values thing. The years moderated my views though my practice has always been with small and mid-size firms. But this year all my youthful reasoning seems very sound indeed.

Saturday I played in the March edition of the Greater Frisco Chess Club(Texas)tournament. In round 1, I managed to play a "Botez Gambit", blundering my queen on move 18. I won my next 3 games, earning the 2nd place trophy. I am less an adult chess improver than playing for fun. #chesspunks

I am unimpressed by folks who mishandle secrets and then claim the matters mishandled were not secrets after all.

I like the way modern social media allows DIY writers to try to locate readers.

Discharging federal employees in a haphazard, poorly-planned way does not improve government and does not improve the private sector. It just wreaks havoc on families without a corresponding benefit.

I support funding the VA, not decimating it.

Over-blown rhetoric and planned lunacy is not 4D chess nor even chess. It's just bluster.

I favor public libraries, public radio and television, the NIH, and rejection of those who seek to abandon them.
