THANK YOU, YES, THIS!

I own a couple, have gone hunting, etc, and even I want some form of national gun control to happen.

The devil is in the details to avoid turning control into minority oppression, but gods I hate how many try to shut down ANY discussion. >_<

Good quality ammo and practicing matters far more than the caliber you choose.

Practice, practice, practice.

Ideally you'll find something that you can get 'cheap to feed' ammo for the range, and then you only need to keep a much smaller amount of high quality ammo when not at the range.

Modern ammo has WILDLY changed from stuff even 25 years ago when most mythos (like the FBI shootout change to .40 S&W) happened.

There's .22LR out there that will consistently get through heavy clothing and still meet FBI 12-18" penetration standard. Often even from a microscopic 2" barrel.

Yes, stock up on ammo! More than you think you need!

But also...

...who the heck blows through 200+ rounds every single trip to the range in this economy unless it's breaking in something (firearm/stance/optic/etc) new? XD

I swear by 50-round drills these days except for .22LR stuff.

If yours is the 'always exposed' adjustment dials than there should have been a 'key' of some kind included in the package for screwing down the mount, looks like this? That flat blade on the back will be sized to adjust your red dot, to avoid damaging things with a random metal screwdriver.

Then you _flip the cap upside down_ and use it to adjust the actual adjustment knob inside!
March 2, 2025 at 11:02 PM
So the big slotted 'dial' is where the battery goes, ignore that entirely once you put the battery in.

The tiny little 'knob' beside it? That's the up/down cap, the one on top is the left/right cap.
March 2, 2025 at 11:02 PM
So it likely has caps on the actual knobs! I have a Romeo5 as well, I think similar to yours?

Which reminds me, I've got today off because of <mumble mumble holiday> that has no major celebrations, good day to go to the range for an hour or so!

P320's are very solid, the new Echelon 4.0 they finally released (versus the 4.5-inch barrel 'full sized' model) is a really nice addition in that category of 'FCU' style platforms too.

Angled in the grip, it uses a custom bolt carrier with that 'tail' sliding down into the grip like a Benelli M4 semi-auto shotgun does. So you're limited to calibers that don't require a different bolt carrier (different BOLT is okay though!), like 6.5 Grendel, .458 SOCOM, or .350 Legend.

...the only way it can be more perfectly KelTec-flavored batshit is if they thumb the nose at even more restrictions by using Lancaster rifling.

Nah, that's over a decade old at this point for the core design and the refresh was months ago.

The thread is due to their new stripper-clip rotating-barrel lug-locking 5.7x28mm pistol that was announced literally right then.
PR57 | 5.7mm Rotary Barrel Pistol | 20 Round Capacity
Unique & light. The PR57 is our 1st rotating barrel firearm and the lightest 5.7 pistol on the market. Its slim, streamlined design make it perfect for edc, and turning heads at the range.

That's some LOVELY furniture on that, especially the fore-end with the MLOK inserts, just enough contrast between the black and metal it makes it look even cleaner somehow.

As someone that participates in target practice and other firearms-related activities and has multiple, 100% agreed here.

Just as long as they don't institute comically low ammo limits thinking that "1000 bullets" is a lot when a single trip to a range for practice can go through 50-200 total.
December 17, 2024 at 12:46 AM
But 100% don't just grab 'the smallest glock' because that means it's got no mass and can honestly hurt to practice with. Wrap fingers on a lot of different grips, find what feels best, that's more important than anything so it's comfortable to practice with.

As a former 43x/48 (48 in my case) owner, I'll second this, they're much less 'spicy' because they have a little bit of weight, and the Springfields (Hellcat or Echelon) are both worth trying out IMHO as well. Echelon especially is on the inflection point of TONS of aftermarket support w/ the COG.
November 8, 2024 at 3:00 AM
Here's probably my most niche one, .458 SOCOM, up to a 600gr round. Which yes, is more than an ounce so more than most 12-gauge slug rounds.

Normally it eats up much more reasonably 250gr rounds though.
September 28, 2024 at 5:01 PM
The second sounds too 'pushy' compared to the first/third, IMHO at least? Naming it after an objective trait seems more appropriate.

Also I apologize for the slow activity, this obviously isn't my primary account so I don't check it constantly. :)

We're not a very commonly seen group, you're correct. ☹️One reason I made this separate sub-account was to make it a little more visible I admit to kinda counter-act that invisibility a little.

If the length of pull (stock to trigger) is too long you can't brace the rifle as well so the recoil will be all over the place and if the bottom edge of the stock has a sharp angle (most do) it can really dig a hole in the shoulder just ABOVE the armpit usually.
September 6, 2024 at 12:15 AM
Rifles have a lot more things to 'get right' compared to a handgun.

Length of pull (to be able to shoulder it comfortably), and "comb height" (height of the stock where your cheek rests to be able to use the sights comfortably) make rifles something that needs more fitting than folks think.
