He's not playing but can't believe Siddle is still kicking around, he has played (an) England (XI) on this tour

"alliance" doing the same sort of heavy lifting as for "taxpayer's"

series over, England plan clearly now to bankrupt Cricket Australia
December 26, 2025 at 7:52 AM
the team should certainly be looking to build on the overnight performance and 3-2 would be a good foundation to build from for the future (and important for WTC ambitions) but making it a "good series" is worryingly delusional

isn't this (synthetic voters from op, not multivac) what mcsweeney has already been doing in uk

tempting to suggest benefits speak for themselves re Labour

small note on a comment during this:

Australian popn has always clustered around the main cities (much more than the popular imagination + stereotypes might indicate)

"The urban population has increased from 58% of the total population in 1911 to 90% in 2021."

if it was just a question of corruption then FIFA would be fine, they know how to play that game, my guess is they are genuinely worried about ICE targetting some of the delegates or sponsors (or teams I guess but not sure FIFA cares so much about those)

this reads as though you never really bought into that marketing campaign

It ran in Oz, did it not run in UK?

having made a loss last FY, Cricket Aus really, *really* needs some 4 day tests this series

My first ever job (after hours shelf stacking) had a "work after hours, paid as >= 18" rule when I first started (~17yo) - so they hired 17/18 y/o

Daytime (who could attend the vote) traded it for a few extra $0.0x/h so we go an influx of 15/16 y/o who couldn't lift some of the boxes

the other bit of jewellery that occured was that for religious workship

I'm sure other religions have similar to crucifix on a necklace or rosary beads

this one is a real classic of the "how have you started there" that unzoomed does

bc it's really not what you get when you look at the maps of that city, or I'd imagine if you'd been

so bad that it stuck in the memory though so got it in 1

Just went and looked up the Labour 2024 manifesto.

First page is a big picture of Starmer and the word "Change".

Second page is the word "change" repeated over and over and over

Third page is "Change" and "Labour Party Manifesto 2024"

today's action even more interesting for trying to work out the selections

don't think I'd have said they were bad in my teens but as someone in the age group described I'd note FM were more on AM around that era

speaking of tacky, somewhat amazed he didn't go the gold wallpaper route

A blackface performance made it to air in Oz in 2009, risking the torching of Harry Connick Jr's rep by association
November 7, 2025 at 4:28 PM
do you have info on how this compares to previous years?

is this year particularly volatile or is it always like this?
November 6, 2025 at 10:57 AM
I grew up in Oz, where I remember them being quite banned for personal use from mid-late 80s

Personally I do quite like the bang part of the light-show, but it will be interesting to see the extent to which drones will change that over time as well, esp if get consumer level ones

IOC better be paying attention

Grange Hill, shown sometimes on the ABC in the 80s/90s as I was growing up seemed to me very much from another world

works even better than normal in UK at present as you're left wondering what ng could stand for

side note: alt text has "kerming" rather than I assume intended "keming" or "kerning" but perhaps this is intended to avoid using alt text to explain joke

I wonder the location of the furthest south sign with "THE NORTH" and the location of the furthest north sign with "THE SOUTH" [esp with matching on the other side of the road]
