Gundam Wing Endless Duel on SNES

Ok, I think it’s all set up pretty well now. Just need to wait for another RCA cable so I can actually hear audio!

MG or HG? Not sure either way I guess.. If MG, my assumption is that it just hasn’t had a print for some time. Otherwise, typically a fresh build in Hobby Japan or similar builds up a ton of interest

😅 And GquuuuuuX also graced us with the character Bocata..

Yay, the AGE-2! The white version looks real nice also

Oooo nice

Can confirm… a small polycap runner

I’ll take a look!

Having such fun with this. After years of living with crisp pixels, I forgot how much they’re at home when set to a crt - really just leagues more natural looking.

(Ignore the glow/bleed in the pic, that’s just my phone camera being annoying)

That it certainly is!

Ah… real scanlines
December 20, 2025 at 7:11 AM
Yes, I’m in! Still need to calibrate the colors, plus resolve some slight warping at the bottom (hoping/assuming it’s fixable), and bought the wrong RCA cable 🙈, but so far so promising

Even though the art style naturally differs from Thunderbolt (plus it was created a few years earlier with a much smaller scope), a similar level of visual richness and mechanical fidelity really comes through.

He repeated it a few times in different ways also. Like a balance of sentimentality for what once was (he produced this work after all) vs the reality of modern production and skill sets (plus his investor balance sheets I can imagine!)

Ogata interestingly stated that coming off the back of Unicorn and G-Reco, the studio was at peak capability. And they just wouldn’t be able to now..
December 19, 2025 at 3:22 PM
Oh, and just to add. If you’ve never watched Gundam Thunderbolt December Sky, I do recommend it. It’s only 70 mins and is a wonderful blend of contrasts. Equally ugly yet beautiful, gruesome yet serene, messy yet precise, hard to stomach yet deeply engaging.. you get the idea.

I’m going to crash for the day shortly, but drop a note if you have any thoughts/comments and I’ll add extra snippets over the weekend!

There’ll also likely be an official report with a digest of the full talk - I’ll share here if so.

As for Ōtagaki, he’s planning to finally finish up Moonlight Mile, then onto a brand new, original mech-manga later in the year. Ogata said that he’d always be welcome to contribute more to the Gundam franchise.

For example, why make the Big Zam… bigger! Supposedly he always wondered why it really needed to have its feet, and well… not to share spoilers..

This liberty in changing the sizes of classic mobile suits was also discussed. Ōtagaki stated that mobile suits tend to have a similar size with the intention of figures/Gunpla/etc in mind. But with this being manga-first, he could have fun exploring actual cases for each design.
