Washington/Cambridge St between McGrath and 93 is like a gradient of gnarliness.

If you’re okay with a detour, I generally find cutting through East Somerville side streets to be lower stress. By the time you pop back out onto Washington via Knowlton, it feels like a comparative cakewalk.
