I'm not going to find joy in someone losing their job for saying something terrible just like I find no joy in a father of young children losing his life over (presumably) the words he said, but I understand that some employers may need to take action.

I think there's a pretty big difference between saying you didn't like someone and saying you aren't sad that person is dead. The latter looks a lot more like "glad he's dead" or "he had it coming" and I'd say it crosses the line.

Caught a drumstick thrown by Lars Ulrich on the fly. Not a huge Metallica fan, I was only there because the night before I had given away a baked potato to some member of the road crew when he came by after we were closed. Comped tickets and backstage passes.

That was my immediate thought when I heard this, and I do get screwed by blackouts often (four teams!) the closest of which is a 3.5 hour drive.

Most of my favorite baseball content producers have migrated here, but mostly I see a lot of unchallenged bad takes, which is…boring in an exhausting way.

I don't know your experience, but mine has led me to an understanding that when required, excommunication is essential to the repentance process, and without it, the eternal family you speak of cannot be achieved. There's always a road back.

I have been way too close to too many controversial situations (not church related) and have watched the reporting on those get it so wrong, that I think our best course of action is to avoid forming an opinion on limited facts.

I think you misinterpreted what I'm trying to say. I don't mean to say they are not believable, or aren't being honest from their perspective, I'm saying it's not a good idea for you to draw conclusions about a situation when you can't know the whole story.

Which is why I'd be hesitant to put a lot of stock in what you're hearing. You can come away from the doctor saying they told you something they didn't, and the doctor can't respond. My point is, you don't know the whole story when one side can't share their perspective.

When it comes to church discipline, I'd be awfully slow to accept the one side of the story that isn't honoring confidentiality as anything close to the whole story.
