The midterms won't give back control to sane people. This is not how a coup works. Still there are republicans who are not 100% in line with current direction (and believe in a fair future election). Those can be convinced, but it is getting less likely to achieve with every day.

I agree. Yet there is one flaw. It takes only a few months to dismantle institutions or to render them obsolete. By 2026 Senat and House either will not have the power and influence anymore to turn the ship around and/or the outcome of elections will no longer represent the will of the majority.

Trumps intellect is hopelessly inferior to that of Putin. How can anyone think he is playing a game on his own terms? But maybe Trump just pretended to be stupid since decades, only to surprise us now. 🤦
