Checked on the price of a June 2026 gravel event in the Flint Hills of Kansas. $345.00 for 200 miles. A $50.00 increase over last year. Guess that'll help pay for those 200 mile finisher jackets, eh?

Shout out to SILCA for their great customer service. Asked for a pump gauge to replace a broken one and they sent me a spanner wrench (?). Sent images back and SILCA responded within an hour, posted the correct gauge and got me sorted

Record-setting March temperatures in the mid-80's meant I HAD to go on a ride despite the 25mph winds with 50+ mph gusts. Legs torched.....

I got to ride this rare Mongoose "Moose Goose" prototype once. I was a blast to ride! I think this is somewhere around a late 1980's bike. Maybe early 1990's. As far as I know it never went into production.

Over the last five years this bridge, built in the late 1950's, was transformed from six lanes of traffic to four with a protected bike lane on one side and a protected ped lane on the other. But they did not do any upgrading to the piers or support beams. Seems a bit shortsighted, Waterloo, IA

Those 20mm front through hubs and axles were a thing for a hot minute, right?

While @whateverbikes.bsky.social has been posting colorful 1990's vintage MTB's, I thought I would not muck up his thread, but I do happen to have a few "not-black-bikes" to share that fit the colorful theme.

Love the detail found on this 1959 Schwinn Corvette 3speed

I'm going to give these TPU tubes for fat bikes a go. I've had good success with the 29" size one I used most of last year. The weight savings alone will be worth it as I look to save approximately 4lbs from using butyl rubber tubes!
