Out of curiosity, how is this distinct from the faith healers "laying of hands" and what evidence is there that it provides greater benefits than a placebo?

They had to pass a "chiropractic anatomy" class. Which is less robust than an undergraduate class. Most of chiropractic school is marketing.

The vast majority of tension headaches are caused by stress. A chiropractic adjustment will only (at best) treat the symptoms and not the cause. There are cheaper and safer ways to treat stress than risking a stroke or paralysis.

I mean, it WAS invented by a ghost in the dream of a guy who couldn't pass an 1800s physicians exam. If you're already being ridiculous, you might as well go all the way.

I would argue that all chiropractic is quackery, but some are less harmful than others. However, no treatment is typically better than going to a chiropractor.

Why is chiropractic trying to get into psychology now? They don't even understand physiology.

If you have an intervertebral hernia, the last thing you need is someone twisting it and making it worse. See a real doctor first.

I used to work in that industry and, being a diligent professional with training in the sciences, I did my research (real peer reviewed research). Needles to say that I was horrified by what I read and can only view chiropractors as grifters since.

Those children need a safe space and therapy to alleviate anxiety. Popping their spine will, at best, give them temporary (less than an hour) of relief before symptoms return.

My old job had me talking to chiropractors all day. They all kind of give off wannabe cult leader vibes. The AMA were the worst of them.

Not just any ghost. The ghost of an unnamed dead physician (late 1800s physician at that). Witchcraft literally has more scientific credibility than chiropractic.

At my old job, I attended trade shows for chiropractic equipment. "Veterinary Chiropractors" always had at least one both at each one. Watching them do "adjustments" always turned my stomach. The animals were always crying out in pain and visibly traumatized afterwards.

Leander Eckard literally used to teach classes at chiropractic schools about how to avoid taxes. It's baked into their philosophy.

The only good chiropractor is one who realized it's all bunk and stops practicing.
June 13, 2025 at 1:35 AM
It's all a scam. It's become such a huge industry that they got enough money to buy the laws and policies that make it legal.
June 13, 2025 at 1:34 AM
It probably wasn't an accident. That's really REALLY common and rarely an accident with chiropractors. There are almost constant lawsuits for that kind of misconduct to the point the AMA and a lot of the schools have funds specifically to pay for the legal fees.

Animal cruelty

You can't cure autism. It doesn't need a cure. It's just a different way a brain can work. It's like saying you need to "cure" your computer of windows because you like Linux more. This message is both dangerous and supports eugenics.

Good call. Those are some of the best tables ever made.

I only just had my first year one completion after literal years of playing. That red cabbage is always a pain! Congrats!

When I worked for a chiropractic table manufacturer, I would spend a lot of time talking to the representatives of various professional and college teams. Most of them were uninterested in ever replacing their tables because they are mostly unused due to the frequent injuries chiropractic causes.

You be hard pressed to find an M.D. that is anti-vaxx. If you do find one, it's likely they are just trying to grift you with an unproven alternative. Chiropractic and homeopathy are not medicine and have been proven to only be as effective as placebo treatments.
June 12, 2025 at 2:20 PM
You should absolutely NOT get an adjustment after traumatic injury. It can lead to more damage and permanent paralysis. Also, NEVER let them touch your neck.
June 12, 2025 at 2:09 PM
I'm glad to be out of that industry. I still can't believe how immoral the practice and the people in it are. My former boss is a proud eugenics advocate (just not so loud until he got comfortable around you)

The "Palmer Technique" also requires placing a digit in the rectum of the patient to "feel their energy." It's a deeply unserious field and is proven to be scam.
