Part 3 of the interview with Fawn. Text reads as follows: Q: Are there any specific details or elements in the work that you personally really liked or wanted to point out to the audience? Yes! I especially enjoy writing dialogues. I imagine them addressing each other with formalities and titles, mainly out of respect and tradition from when they first met. Zhongli is a bit more reluctant to drop them as he holds her in such high regard. In contrast, Guizhong often teases while doing so. This was a bit of a challenge to me since English is not my first language, but it was fun to try! Q: Where can we find you/your works, and is there anything that you would like to promote? I post most of my work on this Twitter account (I've been inactive for a while, but I'm working on it!), on Tumblr and on AO3 under the same name [shinyarmin], and I have a self-indulgent Guili playlist on Spotify in case anyone is interested! Part 2 of the interview with Fawn. Text reads as follows: Q: What was your inspiration in creating this piece, and how were you inspired to put Guizhong and Zhongli in this piece? I was mainly inspired by the viewpoint’s description, as I mentioned earlier, and by the nearby access location of Guizhong’s research realm. I envisioned her spending entire days locked away in her ‘studio.’ From time to time, she would step out to address their people’s concerns and get some fresh air with Zhongli. He would often also visit her inside, and together they would review her latest advancements and inventions. Q: How does Guizhong and Zhongli’s characters help you explore creatively? Oh, that's interesting! What I love most about them is that there will never be enough information🥺😂It feels like HoYo has left Guizhong in a dusty corner (literally), especially in terms of her relationship with Zhongli. While that can be a bit sad for us fans, it also gives us the freedom to shape her story and character as we wish, since it’s not well-defined and likely never will be. This gives me so much room to imagine and create stories and headcanons. In a way, Z+G have created a fun and 'limitless' niche for me to explore! They’re my comfort ship, even though there’s nothing particularly comforting about it 😂 The dynamic of their bond is so entertaining to dive into too, so I’ve found myself constantly drawing, writing, and making playlists for them tirelessly. I just wish the community was a bit more active! :) On a side note, since discovering them, I’ve found myself becoming more and more interested in Chinese culture and mythology, which has been really valuable to me!

Part 1 of the intervie with Fawn. Text reads as follows: Q: What was your creative process in creating this piece, and what was your favorite part about it? Thank you for the interest! I remember that exploring Liyue's map and lore for the first time was a fascinating experience for me. I was especially drawn to certain spots, such as Luhua Pool. Sometimes I would just wander around and let my imagination run wild. When I read the viewpoint description, something just clicked! I imagined Guizhong and Zhongli taking daily walks at sunset along the shores of the lakes. It was a simple, unassuming scene, but I believe it's those small interactions and moments that really build the charm in fictional relationships—they add a special flavor ;). I've always pictured them as being very close and deeply familiar with each other's presence, as they're often described. At times, I imagined them almost co-dependent, having grown accustomed to acting as a single ruling entity. As a result, they likely shared many intimate and transparent conversations on a daily basis. Listening to "This Little Light of Mine" helped a lot in capturing the essence of the fic. I aimed to represent the pure and profound bond between them, delicately balancing between romantic and platonic, yet not fully fitting into either category. I also imagined Zhongli with a less human-like appearance—someone who is gradually growing accustomed to ruling over humans and blending in, yet still somewhat reluctant to fully embrace it.

Part 3 of the interview with Khyubris. Text reads as follows: Q: Are there any specific details or elements in the work that you personally really liked or wanted to point out to the audience? In this piece, I really poured my heart out in the imagery. I tried to capture each emotion with a lot of visceral detail, and so my greatest pleasure would be to have the reader imagine the story playing out like a movie or a scene from a drama, a vivid moment that can be seen and felt vicariously. I personally really liked writing the progression of Guizhong's grief within her final moments with Zhongli and how each second carries a great, immutable weight with it, a sort of urgency that comes with knowing that there's no time left, the future she wished for them is no longer possible, and that they have to make the most out of the brief time they have left with each other. Q: Where can we find you/your works, and is there anything that you would like to promote? I don't have any socials except for discord but my discord/ao3 tag is [khyubris]! feel free to reach out to me anytime regarding anything, especially writing!! Part 2 of the interview with Khyubris. Text reads as follows: Q: What was your inspiration in creating this piece, and how were you inspired to put Guizhong and Zhongli in this piece? Womp womp I don't remember all too much but the infinite fanarts and Lover's Oath by Yu-Peng Chen... those lit a fire in me. also “Dijun Dijun”? i haven't finished it to this day but it was SO GOOD, I wanted to write like that. Also, I wanted to explore a role swap between Zhongli and Guizhong. I wanted to paint Guizhong as someone shrewd and wise, yet behind her smarts is a lack of security, of strength. i wanted to explore a fear of death and how the death of a loved one can interact with that fear. Q: How does Guizhong and Zhongli’s characters help you explore creatively? Guizhong and Zhongli are two very distinct characters in my mind. to me, Guizhong represents humanity, especially its potential. she embodies an innocent optimism as well as a grounded understanding of her own weakness. Zhongli doesn't have an understanding of humanity yet (here), and I kind of see him holding a brash, indifferent attitude toward humanity. but I like to see how he mellows out and starts understanding the intricacies of human interpersonal relationships, that the delicate nature of humans actually teaches him that there is more to life than strength. For Guizhong, I think that Zhongli is her pillar of support and protection; she tends to get in her own head about her fears and insecurities, and Zhongli's steady and calm nature is something that helps her feel secure. I'd love to one day write another piece that explores their dynamics, their intertwining character arcs, and the theme of exploring the universal human experience in much more depth. now that a lot more time has passed and I've improved my craft a bit, I feel better equipped to do so.

Part 1 of the interview with Khyubris. Text reads as follows: Q: What was your creative process in creating this piece, and what was your favorite part about it? So, I guess the major question I was aiming to explore was this: what does it look like to die being loved? writing it was very exhilarating; it was one of the few times where my extreme internal editor wasn't crippling my creative process. thus, it's very raw and (in my opinion) unrefined like a rough draft, but it's a fanfic so I guess I shouldn't beat myself up about it too much. The entire idea behind it started as a kind of writing challenge with my friend (we're both really very interested in the psychology of loss and grief) and we both were very immersed in Guili at the time. I wrote this all in one day. together on a discord call, we played “Lover's Oath” for like more than four hours straight and it ended up kind of writing itself. I'm the type of person to only be able to write when i am in a mood that matches the tonal quality of the piece, so the music was very crucial for maintaining that headspace of grief. being focused on grief for a long time is exhausting, I will say. I shed too many tears over this. my favorite part was writing the visceral outpouring of Guizhong's grief. exploring how love and compassion manifest through mourning has always astounded me; the potency of its catharsis amazed me. through this piece, I tried to explore the thought process behind a final goodbye: the panicked denial, the selfish concerns, the final acts of kindness and empathy. I think grief makes a very good snapshot of the essence of humanity. Alt text continues in the next image. Continued alt text reads as follows: Given that it's two years old, I don't remember too much about the writing process, but looking back on it, I feel there is a lot that could be improved on. But also, it's really interesting to see how this acted as a pretty significant capstone of my growth. this is a good representation of my leap into the world of the psychological, existenial, and philosophical works that i focus on today.
