Another photo of Rogue sharing the recliner with me.

She makes being unwell much less unhappy.

My morning in pictures.

Rogue is the reason I chose an oversized recliner. I wanted adequate space for her.

Here she is cuddling with me as she watches the wolves on the YouTube video my spouse is playing on the TV.

We took a morning stroll with a friend and 2 of her dogs.

A ancient beagle, a poodle mix that looks like a terrier and a young standard poodle walked into a bar…

Just kidding. Rogue isn’t fond of the bar scene. Too many tipsy folks who want to hug her.

Yoyo the half wild rescue husky has an urgent message for us all.

I don’t know what it is, sorry.
November 7, 2025 at 11:17 PM
I gathered the energy to go on a neighborhood walk w/Rogue this morning.

We had fun.

Sitting with Yoyo the half wild husky rescue in the delightful high 70s afternoon weather. She has struggles with being alone for more than an hour.

Yesterday ended on a positive note and it is still with me.

Even tho Yoyo the half wild rescue husky woke me at 3am to go out, I dozed back off and did not get up until 5am. Yay!

I have had a productive morning and it has been a while since I had that joy.

Via dog telepathy/stare, Rogue is communicating that a desert ramble should be next.

Maybe we can.

Since I have been more unwell, Rogue and I have been on fewer wanderings out on the desert.

Here she is as we goof off in my oversized recliner.

Had to repost this one, so added alt text.

I am getting this book.

We got here with only one traffic conflict where what was possible and what my directions wanted were not the same thing.

Here is Rogue hanging out before we drive to a med appt for her human.

I was able to take a walk w/Rogue this morning.

The air was cool even though the sun was up.

We will restart taking more remote paths now that the mornings are cooler.

The snakes won’t be out in the chill.

I play ball w/Rogue while I move back and forth between the front and back yard when watering and doing yard work.

But sometimes, I have to take a break.

Poor Rogue!

When moments are hard to breathe through, Rogue is more than a comfort.

Her presence grounds me, the energy we exchange stabilizes me and her humor brightens everything.

She is my partner and I am grateful for my good fortune.

Here she is wearing her “looking over my glasses at you” look.

We ended up briefly at an event this morning and Rogue was the best girl.

And she knew it, too.

Well, I got outside to pick up dog poop, but that wore me out and now I am anchored in my oversized recliner (thank you, past self!).

Rogue is settled with me and I will see what I can make of it.

A retrospective photo of me and my first service dog when I was donating blood.

I had enough energy to take Rogue on a long-leash walk this morning!

It was good for us both. So lovely to get outside together.

I have been unwell and we have not been having our usual adventures.

Instead, we play in the yard w/agility and Rally Obedience. She sometimes chases a squeaky ball.

Lately I have been experiencing some issues with being able to eat more than a few mouthfuls at a time.

My stamina is diminishing. I am spending more time resting in my oversized recliner.

Rogue often stays with me.

Here she is giving me a face that means mischief coming soon.

I must comply.

No cats, but how about a poodle puppy in a laundry basket?
October 3, 2025 at 11:31 PM
Went for a walk w/ Rogue yesterday even though there was very strong wind.

We skipped desert paths to avoid blown sand.

Only one other person was at the park and using the exercise loop.

There is a tiny library there. The books I donated recently were gone.

Getting out w/Rogue is happy time.

Yesterday’s medical consultation was easily within Rogue’s training level.

She was very professional and ignored people’s attempts to call her to them.

Her auto heeling is terrific.

It is hard to train her to have enough response to the world w/out being focused on it.

I am encouraged.

We went for our desert walk this morning. The landscape had changed a great deal in this area. Many new mini canyons we had to detour around.

There is new growth everywhere after Thurs rain. Scrub is greening quickly.

Rogue sits here on sand with tiny green sprouts amongst tufts of dead grass.
