It's an incredible game, I played it before anything Silent Hill so it was extra fresh for me.

I actually had to go back and check what the cutscenes were in PS4 footage on youtube, but yeah there's that one scene they changed to make the entire thing in the DLC work.

The main plot thread in the DLC also really overstays its welcome. Doesn't kill it, but definitely not their best work.

The thing about the main game is that, while I prefer the story in this one, Yotei plays strictly better. More so than I remembered. Still enjoyable though, and I recommend this pretty highly.

DLC is kinda... just ok. Its worse than the main story and the retcons kinda suck.

52. Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut (PS5)🎮

Never played the DLC, and I wanted to revisit the story after Yotei. Ended up finishing the entire thing before going into the DLC. Still really like the opening and ending of the story. 3rd area is a lot worse than I remember.

Clicking on one trojan horse of a video, which presents itself as commentary on something interesting, but is actually some anti-woke bullshit 5 mins in, ruins my recommended videos for like a week until I finish blocking a bunch of channels.

Whatever this does to a youtube feed must be *grizzly*.

I god damn wish number 2 was a toggle. Like, let me tell the game to never ever ask me this question.

I'm fine retrying something, as long as the game doesn't bring attention to it with this BS. Then I start to feel it. If I want to change something, I'd just do it in the menu myself.

I've posted about it once or twice, but I do think I want to eventually probe more games in this generation, since my exposure to it was so limited.

But looking through reviews of the time feels *bad*, what do you mean "very Japanese" as a negative??

It makes curating a list a pretty awful time.

At least it seems to be meeting sales expectations, and the impression from people that DO get the full picture is overwhelmingly positive. So I hope that we can expect more like this in the future.

I've been watching/reading some reviews, and a lot of them stopped after the first ending. I think that's going to fuel the feeling of overlooked.

It sucks because that structure is essential to the story telling, but I also know that a lot of people don't play games that way.

The story in Silent Hill f was so much more than I ever expected, especially from the AAA space, doubly so for a company like Konami.

It feels like real risks were taken, and I think it paid off in spades. I should probably explore Ryukishi07's other works tbh.

I think it might be less prominent now, after the pixel perfect remasters, but I still remember how mobile/PC ports of their classic games *all* had these bloody smoothing filters applied to them.

Someone at SE must have an irrational fear of right angles, because god damn.

Joking aside, game is Good but not Great, like I think Tsushima was. Kind of weaker on most fronts that I care about.

Big killer was how the plot felt rushed near the end, and a lot of narrative choices I didn't find nearly as compelling.

Everything else I could talk about is a spoiler so...

51. Ghost of Yotei (PS5) 🎮

I feel like I pet significantly less foxes, so its basically a strict downgrade from Tsushima.

Oh and I did everything and platinum'd it.

They really need to let me pet every fox, sometimes they run away and I wonder if I did something wrong 😵

This generation still barely feels like it started, as if half of the new releases I play are sparkly PS4 ports.

Bought the Pro and its the biggest buyers regret I've had in ages. Pitch for PS6 is going to have to be spectacular to even make me consider it.
