And yet, the ways we miss our lives are life.
Here's the Byrne/Austin art for comparison:

Both great records. Neither is a regular go-to listening for me. Nothing much to choose between 'em. Pressing the PAUL'S BOUTIQUE button 'cause it (probably) needs the vote & blowing up the ol' aesthetic framework...the Dust Brothers piece of PB is the best part of either of these two records.

What’s your favorite comic book from the 80s?

Yeah, Egghead is totally a both-a-belt-and-suspenders guy.

The quintessential Todd Snider song. The last line is "I thought that I'd be dead by now, but I'm not."

7-12 on that list is all either thrash, Bach, or death metal 🤘 😆

Greg LaRocque & Al Milgrom's cover for Avengers #222 (cover date August 1982). The way LaRocque has positioned some of the figures in this is so strange.

Agree this should be closer, but, if we're looking at all-time sales numbers, in fairness, most people who have bought LIKE A PRAYER probably didn't buy it until later, either. Madonna's singles reached people, and PB is definitely not a singles record, but it was a critic's record even back then:

I'm not present, I'm a drug that makes you dream

I'm an Aerostar, I'm a Cutlass Supreme

In the wrong lane, trying to turn against the flow

I'm the ocean, I'm the giant undertow
