#CFS, Novid. I avoid TV and all mainstream media. I volunteer at a place that gives away thousands of donated books monthly, so yeah, I read a lot. I'm interested in Covid safety, cats, alt med, self healing, and climate change.
Maybe this is all about getting practice hitting small targets in the ocean. Reminiscent of jumping out of a helicopter to "secure" a building full of sleeping people.

Another admission...it was perfect like the phone call that got him impeached. So, terrible.

Let's see...what can we offer instead of increasing wages, reducing class size, paying for planning/grading time, and supporting mental health? Oh - here's a distraction! And if they go for a 4 day work week, we can cut salaries!

The hardest thing about ditching Twitter was leaving Tern behind.

Are there any reliable tests available in the US that are cheaper than Matrix? I have a PlusLife machine, but I can't get tests. Rapid tests were never reliable enough for my Novid pod, and with all the mutations, I don't trust them at all.

$12B a year is being lost from the economy because a few people are hoarding it instead of paying wages that allow all the rest of us to save up for anything.

This actually made me mad. First, it's not breaking news that if bird flu mutates to transmit between humans, it could be terrible. Second, that's one big if and a maybe, and we're not there yet, so lots of anxiety over nothing. Third, Covid 19 did and does harm and kill healthy people.

What's a word for a kleptomaniac on a massive scale? Serious question. Not just greed etc, but compulsion.

Interesting. So taking away SNAP is maybe useful to Trump to possibly foment violence, but it's not personal for him. Somebody else hates it. But he'll make the calls to keep the pressure high to get rid of Obamacare, because, Obama.

I I understand some of the thinking around trying to force negotiations. There's unprecedented suffering on the table. But I see a hunger for a rioting populace that terrifies me, with a federal militia already deployed. They double-win if they starve people AND trigger them to violence.

It might be simpler than I suspect. One political party choosing to withhold food from 41 million people is, to me, more immediately compelling than healthcare becoming unaffordable for perhaps a similar number of people in 2 months. Both are terrible, and I don't know how to think about it.

Oh, what a relief! Republicans are going to talk to other Republicans about this, and as soon as they reach a consensus, they will start making a plan! Sounds foolproof!

15 years old is not "barely legal."

Really, this time we live in is way too complex for me to understand. That's why I follow people smarter than me about politics. I'm only observing one moving part in this incredibly painful power struggle.

But when you put it this way, it's jarringly clear that we would have had another week of literally starving people. Someone walking home with groceries a block from my home, at 2:30 in the afternoon, had their groceries stolen. It's a safe block. What would you do, with no food in the house?
