For a lab leak, it needs explanation, which leads us to your #2. The WIV laboratory was not near the market. Driving from the lab to the market takes about half an hour. Public transit somewhat longer. 3/

I was cleaning up my work calendar today and cancelled a weekly meeting with a grad student that fell on Christmas Day.

This is from the PDF of a PhD dissertation I just downloaded from ProQuest. How does this kind of thing happen? It's not the first time I've seen it, and it's a very good dissertation! Are universities sending MS Word files to ProQuest? #AcademicSky

I stumbled across Music Nomad's acousti-lok a week ago, and holy hell if this doesn't do the job. Just thread it onto the endpin jack and get a slightly displaced strap lock button. My first one arrived this morning and I tried it out before coming to the office. Need to order several more.

On my own acoustic instruments, I have a variety of solutions. Here are three of my instruments: a leather doohickey and a rubber washer for an acoustic guitar, an endpin jack separate from the strap pin so I can use a straplock on a dobro, and throughts and prayers for a mandolin

A non-political time-cleanse post for #musiciansky.

Acoustic string instrumentalists who use pickups and instrument straps have a common problem: an endpin jack doesn't hold the strap securely. Workarounds abound, but a lot of folks just embiggen the hole on the strap and risk a drop.
