Searching for anything on the internet now just gives shovelfuls of things that have to be LLM generated, you read half a paragraph and realise it says nothing and has no point even existing, other than to exist. I hate this world.

Trying to listen to Lou Reed albums again and realising that I only Like ‘New York’, half of ‘Transformer’ and the sole track ‘This Magic Moment’ though I can see traces of things in other songs.

For some reason I find ‘Bono’ and ‘(the) Edge’ intensely irritating in their naming conventions but I have never objected to ‘Tricky’ or even considered how they’re basically doing the same thing. Maybe it’s just because I like Early Massive attack and loathe U2.

I finally bought ProCreate. The name still stinks. I also never knew how many customisable options there were for pencils, I just want a thing that makes a mark.
I don’t want to sit staring for 20 minutes trying to understand what the abstract concept of pencils as relates to a screen is.

Now that plastic junk that is themed ‘spooky’ time is over you can concentrate on plastic junk that is themed ‘festive’.

Who is it that immediately goes and takes the compressor out of every fridge thats been thrown out within hours of them being put on the street? I’ve never actually seen it happen.

I spent far too much money on photography art books yesterday. But it still felt like a better use of my money than most things.

Having to use physical media again and I snapped a micro SD card in half and all memory sticks somehow suck. I have been spoilt by wireless transfers.

The new iPad / iPhone OS is so buggy it’s infuriating. I wish I could downgrade and get it actually usable to type in text boxes and hit back again.

Not sure what my phone’s criteria for turning on my newly discovered ‘vehicle motion cues’ to reduce motion sickness are but apparently being on a bus isn’t enough.

Watching a YouTube video about Neverwinter Nights and all I can think about is why doesn’t Dungeons & Dragons revolve around how important wheelbarrows are for carrying all the stuff you plunder home.

So I can’t access my DMs unless I prove I’m an adult to a third party who promises maybe not to use data about me, thanks to the uk online safety act. So no DMs for me for the foreseeable future I guess.

I got told I should post this here; I wrote a thing about my whole, broken shoulder debacle: mindfluff.substack.com/p/rumination...
Ruminations on being reduced to one arm
Or: I dislocated broke my shoulder and now I have lots of time to write

I went for my first follow up appointment after the shoulder surgery and somehow after finding out just how many screws are in my arm now I keep wanting to burst into tears whenever I think about it for some reason.

I keep feeling like I should be more productive and then get exhausted just trying to do something tiny. Or I realise how right-hand dominant the world is and I can’t physically do it with one arm. I really appreciate now how flexible things were before.

I’ve been using duck duck go for a while now and this is a very welcome addition.
DuckDuckGo has added a feature to filter out AI images from search results.

Out of hospital!
July 29, 2025 at 8:01 PM
I never realised how boring being in hospital was until now.

Oh great because I’m in the UK I now need to authenticate with a third party service to use DMs. Thank you so much to the current government for making me ‘safer’ online.

I wrote a newsletter post for the first time in three years and now I’m rereading it and thinking my point doesn’t make sense and nobody will be interested anyway. Sigh.

As someone who is probably overly cautious when I make a mistake because I was too hasty my entire world crumbles in on itself for an entire evening.

I’ve come up with an analogy that I’m sure smarter people than me have already to describe the current world as dominated by tech companies. They all want to grow fast like softwood trees but they then have no resiliency and rot apart at the first meaningful challenge that confronts them.

Well Reddit demanding photo ID now is probably a pretty good way to get me to stop wasting time on it.
