The boneset is a hit, and very easy to grow. I planted it this year and it's very healthy with just a bit of supplemental watering at the start. It's been ignored by rabbits and deer as well.

It's attracting a lot more flies and wasps than bees or butterflies, not that that's a bad thing!

If you plant it, they will come! I counted six monarch caterpillars on my swamp milkweed today, and one looked like it was in the process of making a cocoon.

Also, did you know that swamp milkweed has flowers that smell like vanilla? 🌱 #NativeGardening #Gardening

I've given it very little watering but there's been plenty of rain this season. It flopped over after a particularly hard rain one day.

This is a slightly better angle from a couple weeks ago. It's bushy and floppy but is healthy with great blooms.

First harvest of the season. I'm a pretty lazy gardener so I love perennial crops. Blueberries and raspberries on the way too, and hoping to plant a couple apple trees this summer 🌱 #gardening

Blooming Wild Ginger! The flower of this native plant is easy to miss as it's on the ground, hidden by its leaves. It's pollinated ants and other crawling insects, and is hardy and easy to grow 🌱

Moved most of my #homeassistant automations to node-red, and really liking the result. I have never liked the YAML syntax and the GUI way to edit it is annoying too.

Laying it out like this is soooo nice.

Last year was the first year I was really able to garden, after renting apartments for years. But it was a busy year, so I didn't plan, just threw stuff into the ground and observed

Among the things I learned is that you need ~four rows of pollination for proper corn. I planted four.. stalks 🌱

Look! More asters. These are smooth blue aster.

The rabbits and/or deer in my area seem to LOVE aster - hence the chicken wire.

I am testing some feed making stuff. 🌱
