I took this back in the early 1990’s on 35mm film. Downtown Chicago. #film #chicago #blackandwhite

Today I was digging through the archives of photos I took last August that I never did anything with. I found one that I liked back then, and still do. Thought today would be a good day to share it.

Looking up on a dune at Ludington State Park.

Friday evening was one of the good ones at the Lake Michigan shoreline. Looking out over the ice on the lake at sunset.

I don’t think I took many infrared photos in the 590nm light spectrum last year due to a couple new filters I kept grabbing instead. It’s a shame because I really like that wavelength. I’m going to try to remedy that this year. Here is one of the few from 2024.

For anyone who is interested in Infrared 35mm film, the Rollei Infrared 400 is my new favorite. It really gives a better white foliage effect than the Ilford SFX.

Lake Michigan sunset from December 2023

I find myself editing new photos, then often sitting on them for weeks, months, sometimes years before I decide if I like them enough to share. This one was just over a year. First night out with the new camera, so this was a night for testing.

I suppose I should post something here once in a while, huh? This was taken 90 minutes after the the sun hit the horizon. It was a long exposure shot, which explains the brightness by the horizon. If you look close you can see a lot of stars near the top that were starting to come out.

Editing a recent night sky photo, and made a mistake clicking on the wrong thing. Decided I liked my mistake.

There are a billion of these out there from October 10, 2024... but let's make it a billion and one. I captured this shot along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

I'm new to Bluesky, just getting my feet wet here. Thought I would post one of my infrared photos that I took here in Michigan during the late summer.
