This month we joined with MCU Charlotte for a film study as well as a study on State and Revolution by Lenin. There is much in the future for the collaboration of each respective organization and our collective building towards a stronger movement for Marxism here in NC and beyond.

We made history with WHOA this month by endorsing our first candidate for local office, Cecile Crawford for District 2. We have been organization alongside CC for a long time and know she will put in her effort to help sharpen the struggle for the working class here in Greensboro.

Monday, September 29th UNC-Chapel Hill Professor Dwayne Dixon was placed on administrative leave due to his anti-fascist organizing. UNC-Chapel Hill is manipulated by the right-wing donors controlling the administration of the University.

With this change, we are also announcing our next study will be on Walter Rodney’s “How Europe Underdeveloped Africa.” The first 3 chapters will be discussed September 6th at the Benjamin Branch Library at 4pm. Snacks provided. Bring a friend!

We are excited to announce that we have changed our name from Greensboro Revolutionary Study Group to WHOA-Marxist Study Circle. We felt that as a group we should change our name since RSG is affiliated with a different organization which WHOA is not apart of, and don’t want to cause any confusion.

Justice for Said Ezzine and we demand release of all body cam footage, an end to for-profit housing and an immediate end to police brutality and state-sanctioned murder.
August 8, 2025 at 3:04 PM
The police exist to protect and serve private property, not the people. Said Ezzine was not given any assistance for being evicted and was failed by our city officials. Houselessness is becoming more and more rampant in North Carolina and it has had lethal consequences for the working class.

Said Ezzine at 38 years old was killed by GPD on Tuesday, August 5th. He was recently evicted from his home. He was reported for trespassing to the police and this resulted in his death.
