It's interesting that breaking laws so long as you're in a car is acceptable. Everyone who ever got a speeding ticket says, "but I was just 10km/hr over the limit!" Imagine getting arrested for shoplifting and arguing that you *only* stole 10% of the products in your basket.

Indeed. "Elbows up" has quickly become "elbows on the ground as we grovel before our orange master". It's embarrassing.

It's a shame because she's just telling the truth! It really shouldn't be an act of bravery to publicly acknowledge that Trump is a convicted felon.

There's plenty of research showing the direct correlation between vehicle speeds and the probability of pedestrian death (example: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31176144/). But god forbid drivers need to add 60 seconds to their commutes.
The relationship between impact speed and the probability of pedestrian fatality during a vehicle-pedestrian crash: A systematic review and meta-analysis - PubMed
The results of the meta-analysis support setting speed limits of 30-40 km/h for high pedestrian active areas. These speed limits are commonly used by best practice countries that have the lowest road ...

In Back to the Future, Marty travels back through time from 1985 to 1955. That's a smaller leap (by ten years!) than between 1985 and now.

Step 1. Lobby for car-centric cities so having a vehicle is a necessity
Step 2. Raise prices on vehicles
Step 3. Profit
