This guy was a real jerk
No Salah or Gakpo for a while is interesting.

The 2 “ball to feet” wingers leaving the team by force - wonder if he might actually now be able to come up with a functional attacking structure, hopefully built around Wirtz. Give us a future we can get behind.

All fair points he’s making tbf, but I also listened to that “Liverpool Way” podcast earlier and found myself agreeing with basically everything too!

2020/21 slump was more explainable with issues in the team (no CBs!) and the loss of Anfield crowd due to exigent circumstances.

This feels worse.

Couldn’t catch it today. Good to hear.
Something to build on anyway.

Particularly happy that it seems like they were actually fighting/digging in for the coach. For all Slot’s ability, if he actually somehow lost the players it wouldn’t be tenable.

Games in quick succession might save him, if there’s an improvement vs WHam, Sunderland, Leeds…

But feels like been saying that for a couple of months now. I’m not sure the improvement is on the horizon based on how the team looks currently. Also not as if we’re missing a key player to sort it.

They’ll walk it. Might be able to rest players for latter CL stages by March/April as well.

This is absolutely a season to just observe and not react to every poor result (feels like there will be a few of them).
I’d back the manager, recruiters and majority of players to come good eventually but meanwhile it’s no bad thing to mentally retreat slightly from it.
I was so invested last yr!

Looks a decent run on paper but they will all do the long ball thing which we’ve struggled to handle.
Forest is huge really. If we fail to win that then morale gets even lower.

Hope not - and he has a couple weeks to come up with *something*.

Guessing the folks who soiled their nappies over the Palace selection are quiet on the other app tonight eh.

Slot’s very good at shutting out the noise I reckon. He’ll know the issues and sort them over the season. Might not be enough to retain league but we will come good.

The William Webb-Ellis PL Season.

Probably of benefit to have 3 home games in a row even if they’re tough. No travel, just get down to brass tacks on your home turf, get some fight back in you, and give the crowd something to get behind (like don’t concede in first 15!!).
Little bit of luck would be welcome too.

Get to the next intl break and after that our fixtures become much kinder.

Can play ourselves into some form and hopefully then build towards April/May with a possible interest in winning 2 cup comps (league’s done for us imo but still think we got a shot at CL. Maybe I’m deluded!)

Buying great players and building a great team aren’t the same thing. We should have known this from countless cautionary tales across the league.

Should be serious questions asked of those allocating resources last summer because even the players missing today don’t really solve our problems.
October 25, 2025 at 9:28 PM
Feels like during the summer he seemed very influenced by the PSG games if/when he discussed business and the future direction of the team.
I might be mis-remembering, and there’s nothing wrong with that in and of itself but… maybe he has mis-guided himself here. Not much wrong with us last season!
October 25, 2025 at 9:26 PM
He and all others in charge should be seriously questioned for the allocation of resources in summer.

Whether that amounts to being sacked or even people considering it, I’m not sure.
October 25, 2025 at 9:05 PM
I think a lot (including myself) just blindly assumed the big outlay on quality players would result in something better than this. Frankly, performance wise, it should have.

Manager going through a rough patch along with some players but my goodness he’s earned the right to figure it out.
October 19, 2025 at 9:50 PM
He certainly should’ve done *something* cos it felt like a powder keg when he accepted that invite based on revenge, but it ended up a very feeble exit.
He seemed like a rabbit in headlights at the end and couldn’t fight back - I was gutted as well 😂
October 10, 2025 at 1:02 PM
How do you mean? Just that he should have turned down the invite, or been more aggressive in contradicting Harry’s shield theory
