Big clouds in the evening sun. The atmosphere is active and a bit angry to the East.

Two more of my favourite photos by Sebastiao Salgado illustrating the beauty and dimensions of his work. An endless stream of miners in Brazil working like ants to find gold and the endless of open country. Total loneliness. No one.

The first time I saw Sebastiao Salgado’s work was in the 90’ in London. Here I have selected a photo which condenses humanity, raw beauty, and pain in unprecedented ways. Only the greatest artists can capture such a moment. RIP.

Anyone read this book and willing to comment? It shows up a lot in different feeds and generally falls in my areas of interest. So do a few other books. Would like to prioritize.

Sorry for being a dreamer but on any given day I would love to replace our sterile lawn with a beautiful wildflower arrangement to mirror the diversity of an alpine meadow.

Nature is amazing. Winter on top, Spring in the valley. This picture is two days old. Taken in Tyrol at the foot of the Hintertux glacier.

🎬🎬 The English Patient, directed by Anthony Minghella.
Deeply emotional and visually stunning, The English Patient remains a landmark of 1990s cinema, offering a moving meditation on love and loss amid the chaos of war. Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche were excellent.

Lake Constanz, two days ago. The climate is just great in the south-western part of Germany.
Looks like AI but isn’t.

The Gosau lakes, close to my home in Upper Austria, are incredibly beautiful on a Summers’s day. The natural beauty of the landscape fits with the rich diversity of alpine meadows.

I am posting this magnolia as a token of appreciation for a very special person. They will understand the significance and hopefully value the beauty of the image.

There is always a 1st for a trainee. At yesterday’s 50th AGSBS meeting Lexi Bastone, a student in our undergraduate neuroscience program presented her capstone research project, which was expertly co-supervised by Fatema Nakhuda.

Great keynote by Dr. Paul Frankland at the 50th AGSBS meeting organized by our graduate trainees in Biology. He captivated the audience in his talk about the Engram.
