Back to tinkering with this old thing. I gutted nearly all the fake SuperScaler stuff so it was pretty much back to square one.

Got so sick of controller disconnect issues on my Pi4 I did this hot glue "mod" for my DS4. FYI a disconnect between game and UI loading can consistently crash retropie/emustation

I managed to use this as a decent setup for Contra 4, after years of imagining if this were possible. Really makes me wish Retroarch had per-game configs and batch launching as a main feature like DOSBox.

I almost totally redrew the old XYX title screen dragon for the new border, only to make her monochrome. She was even the wrong color previously (since I drew the image before building any iteration of the actual boss)
