Canta can help you delete bloat. I'd be surprised if Fairphone is that bloated though.

They still exist. They're called DAPs now. They target the audiophile niche. Check out offerings from Hiby, iBasso and yes even Sony.

I've been happy with the OnePlus Nord CE5. It does not have 3.5mm tho. I use an external DAC so dropped it from my required features list. I care more about the microsd slot and it is increasingly rare 😞

All lossless streams of the same master with equivalent bit depth and sample rate should sound the same, full stop. If they don't, it suggests the platform is applying EQ or compression to the stream (which I personally do not want!)
