Look over on Nexus Mods. I know there's a handful for all the EDF games,but I've never tried them. There's one I saw that auto collects loot at the end of the mission, which would come in handy.

EDF 4.1 is good but you have to grind each class separately and I didn't think the progress carries over between single and multiplayer. In the newer EDFs you would still get some unlocks for the other classes you don't play as, and also progress between SP and MP.

I'm still working my way through all the EDF 6 missions as Air Raider. I'd say start with either 5 or 6 as the mainline games. The World Brother spin-off games are a lot of fun too, if you can get past the blocky artsyle.
