I am remembering Lupin, a Bond-esque "been in dozens of stories that cannot possibly be canon with each other" character who at one point they made a movie that said "fuck it, all of it is canon, there are just dozens of dudes convinced they are the only Lupin".

Man, it sure is good that ACA made sure to put profit caps on insurers to make sure that payments made by the healthy either went to the care of the sick or were rerouted back to policy holders so the concern you are getting bilked was mitigated. Clearly getting rid of such stuff will save people $

The Supreme Court case will still go on on the basis of "ok, but even if Congress does fund SNAP does the President have the authority to declare they do not have the funds and end it anyway?"

Of course, riots would likely be considered a feature for the people in charge falsely claiming there are already riots to justify sending troops into major metros to support ICE activity.

Hell, arguably the angry base HELPS Democrats politically to some degree: saying "listen, are voters are ready to string us up because we aren't requiring abolishing ICE and mandatory transitions like Trump says we are arguing for" moves the Overton window.

I think it is true that:
1) Asking for a small, reasonable concession only to see it be rejected is very good politics.
2) The fact there is no reasonable endgame where Democrats can bring Trump in line with norms as a minority party is going to make EVERYONE on here angry later this month.
