I think I made a monster

Between Two Fires. This book is amazing but I was put off ever so slightly by how the main character spoke about his adopted daughter’s body. Otherwise, the book is a really cool historical fantasy. It was challenging getting through this I think because I read a physical copy of this book.

The Weaver and the Witch Queen. This book is by the same author as the witch’s heart & it is a similar sort of Viking age historical/mythical fantasy. It was very fun! I borrowed this from the library on my kobo.

Spy x Family volume 1. I borrowed this from the library on my kobo because I love the anime. The manga, so far, is just as good!

She’s Always Hungry. This is a book of really awful short stories. I’m sure I would have liked this book a lot more in my 20s but I found the tropes a little overplayed and being a woman is horrifying enough and this book was a little hard to get through.

Bad Cree. This book was slow going at first but it got so good about a third of the way through. It’s very lovely and heartfelt for such a terrifying book. I borrowed it from the library on my kobo.

The Witch’s Heart. I read this book in 2021 when it came out but I wanted to reread it because it might be one of my favorite books of all time. I borrowed it from the library on my kobo instead of reading my physical copy & it was just as good the 2nd time. It’s about Loki’s witch wife, Angraboda.

Demon Slayer volumes 1 & 2. I love this anime and I borrowed these from the library on my kobo. The manga is really good and beautiful but for some reason it bothers me more in the manga how much the main villain looks like Michael Jackson.

The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying vampires. This was the first novel I read on my kobo, & I devoured it. I borrowed it from the library & I was really pleased with the customization features on my kobo to make it easier for me to read. It was a cute & fun read but not life changing.

Volumes 1 and 2 of Mashle: Magic and Muscles. This series is very fun and I started reading it because the anime was really good. Like Harry Potter but goofier and no TERF shit.

Everything I read since Christmas:
Volumes 1-12 of the apothecary diaries manga. This series is sooooo soso sooooooo good. I’m reading it on my kobo but I sort of wish I was collecting the physical copies.

Taking a break from knitting things for other people and knitting this goofy little sweater for myself

I’m reading a physical book instead of a book on my kobo

I also finished this on New Year’s Day. This sweater is totally unremarkable but I probably wear it the most out of any of my knitted sweaters. Made from Briggs and little wool.

I knit this for a family member’s baby shower 😊

As a certified dyslexic, I’m pretty proud of my reading progress this year (even if 9/12 books were manga).
