Here’s my idea. We form a third party. This party is for moderate government - that is, government that is the right size to serve people in traditional areas: housing, healthcare including mental health, environmental health, national defense, and disaster preparedness and relief.

I remember how poorly returning Vietnam vets were treated. As a country we learned better and now everyone thanks bets for their service. Half of this country is going to owe an apology to civil servants in the same way.
