I doubt if it's a kestrel as they rarely visit gardens and are happier in open ground. I would imagine it's a sparrowhawk which will regularly visit bird feeders for their lunch and take the small birds with ease.

Should be ok.
I pruned an apricot in October a couple of years ago without thinking even though I knew that I shouldn't.
It went down with a problem the next year and I'm still trying to save it.

Be careful pruning or trimming cherries after early August.
It can lead to disease.
Fruits with stones ought to be pruned no later than July to be safe.

I bought a 4ah battery eventually which lasts an hour and I rarely use a watering can around the plot

I move it twice with one IBC at the end and one in the middle.
It's easy to switch the pump on and let it fill the tanks up while getting on with some jobs.
