Pigeons, squirrels, crochet, attempting new recipes, grumbling, socialism, reading fiction, old and arthritic. Broke and in debt. No spare cash. Don't ask. DO NOT DM ME.
Cat looks at me and meows silently with disgust. Speckle, my favourite pigeon settles on bathroom window ledge and watches cat, warily. There is an impasse.

🧶A couple of flower motifs, irish crochet.

I don't know, maybe my foundation cord needs to be thicker.

🧶 Probably wasn't the best choice to use black yarn to learn this style of crochet.

Partners niece wanted navy, grey and white. This one in a basket weave stitch.
January 3, 2025 at 8:02 AM
Partners niece's daughter wanted pink and grey. This one in chevrons.

The aunt's daughter wanted one in blues, so used the star pattern, that I had found on the Internet, for that one.
January 3, 2025 at 8:02 AM
Partners sister wanted one in shades of grey and white. So this one was made in alternate shells pattern.

🧶Then some orders come in 😂 Aunt would like a blanket in lilac. Not entirely sure what is meant by lilac, I think light purple, some think dark. So this one was made in the virus pattern.

The critters get their Xmas Dinner too.

It's Xmas. Tomorrow is my day to cook (other half does Xmas Dinner and a wonderful job he does of it too). Sitting in front of the telly, crocheting this...

I wanted to try Tunisian crochet. It looks pretty solid, so I thought it would make a good warm blanket. But I don't have Tunisian crochet hooks, so I went with entrelac. Avoiding the need to sew squares together.

Back to the book for the next one. Raised columns. Used up some of the variegated yarn for this one.

Next was a pattern I found on the Internet, forgotten what it was called. Was crocheting for the sake of crocheting at this stage. Really don't like the colours 🙁 Might end up frogging this one.

After that one, other half's mum's birthday was coming up, so, I thought in make her a blanket. She likes blues. Kept seeing the "virus" pattern, so I gave that a try.

My other half just came home from work. Straight to the kitchen tomake coffee. Could hear the foxes in the garden. One decided to watch him.

Back to the book for a pattern of generous shells. Pinks and reds 🧶
November 27, 2024 at 12:15 PM
After that came another pattern found on the Internet. Star shapes 🧶
November 27, 2024 at 12:15 PM
Next one was a pattern found on the Internet (if I remember correctly). These colours were the nearest I had to autumnal colours, as the pattern was like leaves. 🧶
November 27, 2024 at 12:15 PM
🧶 Which then led onto the fan lace pattern. Which works well with a slightly thinner yarn.
