This is what I've been saying! There is no way the US GOP would in any way allow Canada to have full democratic powers so there's no way Canada would be a State. At best, we'd be a territory. All our resources would be stolen (water & mineral) to only benefit the richest of the rich in the US.
Here’s the hard truth: if 🇨🇦Canada is to remain independent, there will be much pain ahead as we reorient our economy away from easy reliance on the behemoth to the south.
But far better that pain than becoming residents of a colony like Puerto Rico - we would never be allowed in as a 51st state.

Discovered a great book, "Nevermore Bookshop". So much fun to read with a FMC whose inner dialogue made me grin constantly and a MMC whose inner dialogue led to me laughing out loud in public.
The community of supporting characters make me want me to climb in the book and be friends with them too.
