I would legit run for county commissioner in Josephine County if it didn't mean a 50% pay cut. (Not that I'd win, but I would at least try.) A lot of the people in local government are real estate agents which is just ripe for conflicts of interest.

When the county and city government starts failing to alert people of wildfires or water quality problems or take care of infrastructure, you know things that can get people killed, banning the one trans kid from the track team is suddenly stupid.

I live in a very red county in Southern Oregon, and the local Republican Party just blew up and folded. Mass resignations and chaos. A bunch of far right people took over county government and it's been a disaster because they have no interest in the administrative work of governing.

Pretty sure the reason meg-huggingface is on a ton of block lists is because of the time huggingface bragged about using the firehose as AI training data and there was a mass blocking of huggingface people as protest.
