Leyline Axe does work! Never had it in an opening hand (yet), but i have this in like 3-4 decks and it just does everything you want it to.

My most hipster deck has to be Sundial, only 63 decks. And I still think under 500 is hipster these days, maybe like 350 now would be a better metric?

Day 3 of ??? of posting a LGBTQ+ MTG character: Talion, the Kindly Lord! Talion is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. They are the current lord(or one of?) Eldraine’s High Fae, as well as being one of the four casters of the sleep spell used to end the invasion of Eldraine
