Now I have what can only be described as a near fatal malaise, Tilly has taken on the role of matron and is making sure I get enough biscuits. For recovery, or something.

If anyone tells you you can't get a three seater sofa in the back of a mini clubman, you send em my way.

Also, for sale, 3 seater sofa. Used. Can deliver

I found this coffee cup in the cupboard at work last week. It is mine now.

These cuffs have been relined inside and reinforced. They carry their scars but I quite like that. New stuff is for other folks

Been waxing my old jacket this evening. Had it since I was 22, and I turn 47 this week. This coat back has seen some bloody rain, and felt some sweat inside it. I spent last weekend sewing the cuffs back together too. There's good years left in it still, I hope the work gets kinder mind you

Masks specific for people called Martin, apparently

Also, for anyone looking for a break from the "should wankers get murdered" discourse, I have gone in hard on Autumn and lit the fire. Go home and then go big (on kindling) is one of my mantras (allegedly)

It's taken 4 months but the stonework and repointing of this house is finally done! 🎉

Reckon the people who live on this boat will have a pair 'for best'

The main festival site is just behind those trees, and the campsite the other side of the house!

Both of my boats together for the first time! The big journey done and the mooring opposite became free about an hour ago so I hopped onto it. Only a 48 hour stay so they'll be apart again soon, but in the near future they'll be out as a pair, maybe permanently

Readers of the Restless Forge, it finally made it home to Aynho this weekend. A long and leisurely roll down the west mids from Chester, via Manchester, to Oxfordshire. Here it is just coming in to shore, and just out of site under the bridge my other boat is moored. I now have a pair.

More van-ness today. We're a month away from Beautiful Days and I absolutely insist we have a lined out motor with solar power and a proper bed for the weekend

Yep, it's there!

Opened the recycling bin at the boatyard today to see this. Very on trend I thought

If you see this quote with a robot that isn't from Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr Who, or Transformers

Feeling pretty delicate this morning, I brought the boat out of Banbury in the cooler conditions. Remembering my headphones for once I took the Kings of Convenience with me, and what a balm for the soul, listening to Quiet is the New Loud as we swept through housing into rural Oxon again

Well about 10 days ago I took all the apps off my smartphone and migrating stuff to a small tablet, to handle a lot of stuff I used to use my phone for. Today this arrived, the next step in rolling back how much time I spend online during the day. It's working well so far, the big step next

@prehistorian.bsky.social look, found this on the shelf in our work library!

Blenheim Palace has had a face-lift. I have to say I think it's a vast improvement, reminds me a bit of Deep Thought from the original BBC Hitchhikers series

Tried the guillotine out by making two aluminium pointing hawks for me and Ben to use at work this week, as ours are nearly worn through

Todays little side quest: mounting my guillotine on wheels by hanging it menacingly in the air with ratchets and slipping the pallet out. Total success, not only is it now mobile, but I've proved it's stable enough to use
