Starting next week, I’ll set Howard Galley’s proper antiphon texts for Advent and Christmas Sundays before reverting back to RCL year A Gospel readings in the Epiphany green season.

Aware of it, but haven’t read it—it seems like I came across a pretty thorough sympathetic review of it some years back

Advent 2?

Agreed! Why are we apologizing to Charles Wesley? This is a great fit.

In that case, I'll add Justin Philip Brooks, who has a few singles available on Spotify and elsewhere. He too has that milennial indie-folk sound and has been active in the Diocese of Dallas. I think he's at St. Michael's and All Saints now--he recently led a bluegrass hymn "hootenanny" there.

I would suggest Ryan Flanagan (the Liturgical Folk guy) who's currentnly at Resurrection South Austin, the parish famous for moving to TEC from ACNA, but he was at All Saints Dallas (ACNA) before that--so maybe not a great suggestion.

Here’s S242 from Hymnal 1982, without the antiphon it provides (and without permission).

Traditional at my parish, traditional and contemporary interchangeably in private Daily Office prayer.

Part of me wonders whether, for the sake of usability, there should be tonus peregrinus Magnificat antiphons year-round, since it's not a difficult tone for congregations to learn, and it's right there in Hymnal 1982.

Yes! It is ALWAYS Advent.

There are so many After Pentecost collects that would be perfect for this, not least among them this week’s.

That’s my gut reaction, too. Even if they introduce a little bit of weekly seasonality to the weeks after Pentecost, especially when they connect with the lectionary somehow, they’re nevertheless edifying and good and, here 35 years later, aren’t we all praying these collects daily now?

I'm convinced that LilyPond is the future for me, somehow, in this project. It's hard. I can see that the spacing is ridiculous. I'll get better.

Mahler’s 3rd is the one that hooked me at age 17, but that’s an impressionable age, and I now appreciate that generally speaking, Mahler’s symphonies aren’t all that accessible. (Besides, now his 8th is my favorite.)

I like the Every Moment Holy prayers and had no idea this journal existed. Thank you.

Closest I ever found to this was Sacred Ordinary Days, which seems to have closed up shop

Maybe so! What is a prayer card?
