Good, do you mean danger as in low player health or danger as in the ai getting set up? Because if it's the latter that sounds not only really cool as a flair, but also as like a mechanic to let the player know to lock in or lose. Imagine the anxiety.

I would put a disclaimer somewhere long before the price increase would happen, and it wouldn't be more than 5$. I wish I could say 20$ but people are so rough on money now (in the US at least) that for me and my friends we just can't justify a flat 20 purchase. If you do decide 20 I'd make a demo.

I think I would release at 10-15$, wait for mod content to get made, then release a huge update that increases the price. It's kinda scummy I guess, but my logic is that one of the huge draws is the mod content, but that's not gonna be there at launch. I'd buy a game just for it's mods.

All games are made by people who leave society to live in caves for 10 years as a pilgrimage to the machine spirit. The reason AAA games usually suck is because some idiot says he owns the caves and kicks the devs out of the caves, which displeases the machine spirit. I'm a gamedev trust me

I've been working on a fully modable modular roguelike rpg for this exact reason, if all goes well and people want to mod it I want to play those mods so bad.

drg irl would be you and your team risking everything to defeat the caretaker and retrieve the data core, and instead of a bonus or promotion they give you and your team 1 slice of pizza on little plastic tables in the memorial hall
paul didn't make it, but they forgot to remove his chair and slice

been making this for the past few months, and it's the first thing I've ever actually finished. I have a bunch of tossed projects but I really wanted to actually sit and finish something. so here it is! a gbc imagining of a very fun card game :)

my pc in our gurps campaign is a generic ass dungeon crawler who made it to the bottom of a dungeon and stole a magical amulet. I looked our dm in the eye and said "my character has no clue what this does and neither do I. fuck my shit up." and now my character keeps having nightmares about it :)

oooo! could we use this for a pseudo-shiny system with different rarities for each palette?

Not great! I'm still improving after a year. It hurts to look back at all of those sloppy functions. But it really is, unfortunately, about faking it till you make it. Be like "Yeah. I can make this." even if, in your heart, you think you can't. Because you can! And it'll be better/easier next time.

Then, we place the player where we want them to "enter" from. Then we fade back in. Obviously this is extremely simplified, every feature is a tree. Every "goal" has another "goal" you need to do to make that feature. It's rough going at first but after a few months I could write MY OWN code. 3/4
